Skill Building · Investigative Interviewing

What an IC member says in the first ten minutes determines whether the inquiry stands up.

WORQsense and IMS Australia deliver evidence-based interviewing practice built for workplace investigation in New Zealand and IC and GRC settings in India.

Why the interview is where investigations succeed or fail.

The interview is where evidence is established or lost. An IC member who doesn't know how to structure a complainant interview cannot produce a defensible record, regardless of how strong the underlying complaint is.

Most IC and HR training covers what the PoSH Act requires: timelines, constitution, documentation. Almost none covers how to actually conduct the inquiry: what to say, how to structure questions, how to handle disclosure, how to build an evidence record from an interview.

Legally compliant but procedurally deficient is still a liability. The procedural deficiency almost always starts in the interview room.

Global Training Partner
Interview Management Solutions, Australia

Interview Management Solutions (IMS) is a specialist investigative interviewing training organisation based in Australia. IMS delivers training using the PEACE model, the internationally recognised framework for ethical, evidence-based investigative interviewing, alongside the Mendez Principles on non-coercive interviewing and the TILES System® platform.

WORQsense contextualises IMS training specifically for workplace investigations, Internal Committee (IC) proceedings, and GRC settings. This is not generic law enforcement methodology adapted for the workplace. It is built for employment relations and PoSH contexts from the ground up.

Three pillars. One framework.

TILES System®

Interview skill made observable and measurable. The world's first investigative interview management software — digitises interview planning, shortens training cycles, and produces court-admissible records.

PEACE Model

The internationally recognised structure for ethical, evidence-based investigative interviews. Preparation and Planning. Engage and Explain. Account. Closure. Evaluate. Provides a structured framework that reduces bias, builds rapport, and produces comprehensive, reliable accounts.

Mendez Principles

Principles on effective interviewing for investigations and information gathering, based on the UN Special Rapporteur's work on non-coercive, rights-respecting interview practice. Applied in WORQsense training to reflect both ethical and evidential standards.

The practitioner behind IMS

Daren Jay

CEO, Interview Management Solutions. Creator of the TILES System®. Over 30 years in law enforcement and government investigations.

Daren Jay spent 15 years as a Senior Fraud and Corruption Investigator with the New South Wales Government, conducting interviews with witnesses, victims, and subjects across complex fraud and corruption matters. He qualified as a UK Home Office Investigative Interview Trainer in 1996 and has been teaching investigative interviewing methodology ever since.

As Lecturer in Policing at Charles Sturt University (CSU), Australia, Daren leads the university's investigative interviewing curriculum. He has designed, delivered, and evaluated specialist programmes for Australian federal and state agencies including the Australian Taxation Office, Fair Work Ombudsman, SafeWork South Australia, and the Department of Community Services.

Internationally, Daren has delivered training for the European Investment Bank (Luxembourg), the World Bank Group (Washington D.C.), Westpac Banking Group, and multiple anti-corruption agencies across the European Union.

In 2013, Daren designed and built TILES, the world's first investigative interviewing software platform. TILES digitises the interview planning process and has been shown to shorten training cycles, improve theoretical understanding, and sharpen interview structure and strategy across diverse investigative contexts. As CEO of IMS, he now leads global delivery of technology-enabled investigative interviewing training for law enforcement, financial institutions, and public sector agencies.
